Commercial Pilot

Becoming a commercial pilot is about mastering the aircraft to a professional standard. While the FAA sets specific minimums for experience, we focus on ensuring you are truly prepared for the demands of the industry.

FAA Minimum Requirements

  • 250 hours of total flight time
  • 100 hours of pilot-in-command time
  • 50 hours of cross-country flight time
  • 20 hours of specialized training in specific maneuvers and operations
  • 10 hours of solo flight or duties of pilot-in-command with an instructor

Important Note: These are the bare minimum legal requirements set by the FAA. In reality, most students find that they need additional flight time and experience to truly master the skills required to pass the commercial checkride and fly safely as a professional.
