Flight Reviews & Instrument Proficiency Checks
The Flight Review
A Flight Review ensures you remain safe and competent in the air. It consists of a minimum of one hour of ground training and one hour of flight training.
- Before: Review Part 91 regulations, local airspace, and aircraft performance data.
- During: Practice maneuvers, emergency procedures, and landings.
- After: Receive a logbook endorsement and a plan for continued proficiency.
Instrument Proficiency Check
If your instrument currency has lapsed beyond 6 months, an IPC is required to regain your legal ability to fly in IFR conditions.
- Before: Brush up on IFR charts, approach procedures, and weather theory.
- During: Demonstrate holding, intercepts, and various instrument approaches.
- After: Debrief on precision and systems knowledge for IFR safety.
